An Audio Tour of Our Park – listen or look here!

We have created a virtual tour of our park, including some of the fascinating memories, that older local residents have sent us.
There are 12 stops around the park, and it starts at the noticeboard on the Havelock Road entrance to the park:

Stop 1: At the Noticeboard on the main (Havelock) entrance – Of an extensive Brick-pit, and when Bromley was in the Tropics

Stop 2: A short way down the made-up path down ‘Raglan Avenue’ – Of The Old Bay Tree, the Brick-pit and Brick Making

Stop 3: Just before the bend in ‘Raglan Avenue’ – Of Brick-workers houses in Havelock Road

Stop 4: At the Homesdale Road entrance to the park – Of WW2, Thornet Wood, Arthur’s Incendiary and Johnson Road crash

Stop 5: At the large Sycamore Tree – Of the Crooked Billet, memories of Seeding Grass and steaming hot tip

Stop 6:  At the north end of Dip – Of the rubbish-dump adventure playground

Stop 7:  At the south end of Dip – Of the rubbish-dump adventure playground

Stop 8:  At the Walwyn Road entrance to the Park – Of a watchman and kids hitching a lift on the back of the dustcarts

Stop 9:  At the first small bench along the chain link fence – Of Gas works, and selling coke & Bonfire competition

Stop 10:  At the Green lane entrance to the park – Of Podger’s Laundry, Raglan School sports day and Seagull Roost

Stop 11:  Halfway down the Bourne Road side of the park – Of Football practise,  Milwall FC, and the Scouts

To make your way back to the start of the trail, continue clockwise around the field.  After you have passed the two benches, you will see the access road and entrance board to your left.
